Spongilla spicules are massaged into the skin. Spongilla Therapy shortens the skin’s cell turnover from 28 days to 7 by accelerating cell metabolism. There will be different degrees of peeling over 1-3 days depending on the health of the skin – not everyone will peel. Spongilla spicules come from natural sponges which are collected from the Dongjiang freshwater lake and have been known for their use in skincare dating back to the 18th century in Europe. They can be seen as powder to the naked eye and as a sharp rod crystal under the microscope. In just 15 Minutes, 3 – 5 000,000 natural siliceous microneedles are directly introduced into the dermis layer through hand massage. Over the next 24-48 hours these spicules come back to the surface removing the stratum cornem.
